What is a Buyer's Agent

A Buyer's Agent in a Real Estate Transaction represents the interest of the Purchaser(s).

A Buyer's Agent may be an Agent, Broker or Associate Broker. This role provides separation from the Listing Agent representing the seller.

Before a buyer's agent can fully represent a purchaser, the buyer's agent will typically ask the purchaser(s) to sign a "Buyer Brokerage Agreement". In most states this is common practice; and in Georgia, it is the law.

Should you use a Buyer's Agent?

We believe, in most cases, a purchaser(s) will benefit by engaging with a Brokerage for representation when purchasing a home. However, as in any Business or Industry, one must choose a firm they feel would best represent their interest.

Remember, when you sign any Brokerage Agreement, you are signing with the Brokerage Firm and not with an individual agent.

What does a Buyer's Agent owe you as a Client?

Once you sign a "Buyer Brokerage Agreement", you then become a Client of the Brokerage Firm instead of a Customer.
